Big Weekend Sees Kah Take the Lead

Four victories on the weekend has seen Jamie Kah take the lead from Linda Meech in the race for the record of most wins by a female jockey in a season.

Kah got her weekend off to the perfect start by steering $6 chance Bris Vegas to victory in the first for Ryan Balfour. She then partnered favourite General Custer in Race 5 for a gutsy win before teaming up with Ryan Balfour again to take out Race 6 on Balf's Choice.

Throughout this season Kah has not been a regular at Sunday meetings but a trip to Murray Bridge yesterday saw her bag her 126th winner for the year with the John Macmillan trained debutant Yurilla.

Kah now sits on 126 Australian winners for the season, two ahead of Meech on 124 and sixth overall in Australia with 15 days left in the season.

She is also quickly closing in on the South Australian record of 138 winners in a seaon which is held by Simon Price from the 2002-03 season.

Kah's South Australian tally for this season is 125 wins, with her 126th win this season coming in the Northern Territory. She currently sits 13 behind Price's record.

While it might be a tough task, Kah is in magnificent form and nothing is out of reach for this star of the saddle.
