Racing SA is controlled by a Board of Directors. They are as follows:
Rob Rorrison - Chair
Following a long career with Macquarie Group in Australia and Asia he currently works as a Senior Adviser at Taylor Collison. He has served on the Board of a number of companies in Australia, North America and Asia and is currently Executive Chairman of Climate Capital, and a Non-executive Director of Hong Kong based Baiyin International Investments.
Grant Harrison - Deputy Chair
Grant is the former General Manager of the SATAB (8 years) having been employed there for 25 years. He has a Bachelor of Business and Associate Diploma of Marketing from University of South Australia.
Grant also has extensive experience in sports administration having been on the Gymnastics Australia Board for 12 years, the last three as President. He has also been a Board Member of the Australian Olympic Committee (2years) and is a current (since 2012) Director of Commonwealth Games Australia and the Australian Commonwealth Games Foundation. He was a Board member of the Southern Football league for 5 years and Chairman of Gymnastics South Australia for 10 years.
Cos Cardone
Cos Cardone is the Chief Executive Officer of McGuire Media - one of Australia’s largest independent producers of sport and sport entertainment for Australia’s leading FTA and PAY TV Networks.
He has been a Director of the Port Adelaide Football Club since 2012 and is Chairman of the Club’s Brand and Marketing Committee.
He was previously Director of Sport and Head of Entertainment for the Nine Network Australia.
Stephen Watts
Stephen is an experienced accountant and Partner at Tilbrook Rasheed where he provides expert services in areas including management, strategic planning, taxation and equity funding advice.
He is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia. He is currently a part-owner of 10 racehorses and was a previous owner of the legendary Rebel Raider.
Matt Lloyde
As National Manager of Sales, Marketing and Innovation for the division responsible for the Lysaght and Fielders brands at BlueScope Steel, Matt brings significant experience in delivering on business strategic projects.
He has served on the boards of numerous high-performance sporting organisations including Netball South Australia and the World Tennis Challenge Tournament.
Julie Ryan
Julie specialises in Legal (General Counsel and M&A), Corporate Affairs, Strategy and Communications. A senior executive with international experience she was a Director of Racing SA from 2018 to 2020, before taking on the role of Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability with Endeavour Group and subsequently as Chief Legal and Risk Officer for SportsBet Australia.
Julie is now an independent legal and corporate affairs consultant in her own advisory practice, JR Consult.
Penny Lion
Penny Lion is a commercial leader specialising in tourism and events. Her career spans 30 years and includes work in both corporate and government organisations in Australia and overseas. Her most recent tourism role, Executive General Manager, Events at Tourism Australia headed two divisions comprising global marketing, sales, distribution, partnerships, and operations to drive the visitor economy. Penny left executive employment in 2021 to become the managing director of her family’s wine company.
Penny is currently a non-executive director of the Adelaide Venue Management Corporation, Australian Business Events Association and the Clare Valley Wine and Grape Association. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
