Best performed Bred to Race Thoroughbred - Libadee Park Fourdee & Libby Halliday.
Race Name: Fourdee (Gallo Di Ferro (USA)/Dee D'or) Racing Career: 23 Starts 0-0-3. $9,900 in Prizemoney. Formally trained in Mount Gambier by Bob and Kane Post, Fourdee had a racing career spanning almost 4 years though was never quite able to crack the win. Fourdee and rider Libby Halliday have proved successful in recent times taking out the best performed Bred to Race Thoroughbred at the NDSJC Guley cup as well as heading interstate to Stonewall Equestrian for the Thoroughbred Sport Horse Nationals where they claimed the win in the open 80cm, open 85cm classes.
South Australian Jumping Championships - 26th, 27th & 28th of April.
Jumping South Australia Held their annual State Jumping Championships at Talunga Park in Mount Pleasant from the 26th – 28th of April. Thoroughbreds were seen making their mark throughout the event including the two best performed thoroughbreds of the show.
Ring 1: Best Performed Bred to Race Thoroughbred: Veneficus ridden by Sasha Smith
Race Name: Veneficus (Brief Truce (USA)/Silent Annie) 14 Starts. 1-0-1 $17,623.
Trained in Ballarat during his racing career, Veneficus has come a long way and has formed quite the partnership with rider Sasha Smith that has now taken them around Australia. Veneficus otherwise known as Harry, claimed the best performed Bred to Race Thoroughbred in ring 1 after competing in the Junior championship, achieving third and fourth placings in round one and round two respectively, before a third place in the final. Sasha and Veneficus also made their way over to Stonewall Equestrian for the Thoroughbred Sport Horse Nationals this year.

The Mt Pleasant Pony Club held their annual Super cross event which is a competition made up of Show Jumping and Cross Country. Two different awards were of offer for bred to race thoroughbred and the winners were as follows:

Kirkcaldy Horse Trials - 11th & 12th May.
Usually held slightly earlier on the Calendar, the 2024 version of the Kirkcaldy Horse Trials were held on the 11th and 12th of May after being postponed due to hot weather earlier in the year. Seen across all levels, the thoroughbreds showed spectators exactly how its done. The awards for the Highest Placed Bred to Race Thoroughbred in each grade are as follows.
