RACE 1 - 11:32AM Weslo Security Handicap (1100 METRES)

NO DRAMA is a former Kiwi who won an 800m race at Riccarton on debut before coming to Australia and joining the Lindsay Smith stable. He draws a good gate and has been very well backed since markets opened. THE GUAVA was a Casterton winner last time and draws a nice gate. PRANCE ‘N’ DANCE finished off strongly first-up from a break and should run well. Gordon Richards and Damien Moyle have three first starters TAPINFORPAR winning a Murray Bridge trial. FIELD OF MOMENT is on debut for the Stokes stable.

SELECTIONS: 1 NO DRAMA, 2 The Guava, 5 Prance ‘N’ Dance

PLAY: Keen on NO DRAMA

RACE 2 - 12:07PM The Junction Handicap (1200 METRES)

SIDEARM maps to get a good run. He’s been threatening to win a race since coming to SA, and I’m giving home another chance here. SACRED ARMOUR was narrowly beaten two starts back before looking a touch plain behind Jaamint last time. He’s a nice horse who draws out but should give this a shake. HUNTLEY LADY never looked comfortable when she got back at Murray Bridge last time behind GO BUNDLE who was good beating Magicourt. KAYSERI was good closing strongly behind Fighting McLaren last time. KONG shapes as in improver here and has been specked at a price.

SELECTIONS: 1 SIDEARM, 5 Sacred Armour, 11 Huntley Lady, 3 Kayseri

PLAY:  Giving SIDEARM another chance each-way.

RACE 3 - 12:42PM Leconfield Handicap (2500 METRES)

REFLECT THE STARS was a winner here back in September and comes off a good run behind Pesto at Flemington. He draws out but has Todd Pannell and looks the clear top pick and a good price. BRAWL was good behind Not Usual Glorious in the Casterton Cup last time. Matt Cumani has two runners here both drawn well. ONE MORE TRY was down the track in the Centaurea Stakes before being well beaten at Flemington last time. RISING RENOWN has been ridden aggressively his past couple while LORD BOUZERON has been around the mark. CAPRICORN RIDGE is racing well and SMILING ASSASSIN won well back in class.

SELECTIONS: 5 REFLECT THE STARS, 3 Brawl, 11 Rising Renown

PLAY: Keen on REFLECT THE STARS.

RACE 4 - 1:17PM George Page Memorial Handicap (1200 METRES)

Tasmanian VERBANO was good making late ground behind Megamea at Sandown last time. He has a good record and looks nicely placed here. DINGABLEDINGA was an Oakbank winner before chasing home Harleymoven before a break. CHICAGO STORM was impressive winning his maiden at Balaklava last time out. He looks a horse with upside. LEGLESS LADY was a soft winner back in class beating Yeah Yeah Nah. DARCEANDERMILL ran well at Geelong last time. KNIGHTSTOWN was good behind Calla Dream last start.

SELECTIONS: 7 VERBANO, 8 Dingabledinga, 10 Chicago Storm, 11 Legless Lady

PLAY: Something on VERBANO each-way.

RACE 5 - 1:52PM Fleurieu Milk Company Handicap (1524 METRES)

EN FRANCAIS is a nice mare who was good first-up from a spell when she ran out of condition late behind Hateech at Murray Bridge. She draws out but is a mare who should find herself in better races. ANOTHER RALLY comes off an easy Mildura maiden win. He’s trialled again since and draws a sticky gate but looks hard to beat in a race like this. Fellow Victorian EL CORDOBES won a Geelong maiden back in January and made good ground form the back to win 2nd at Geelong last time. FOX D’OR is a winner this track and trip and got back before struggling to make ground last time. GARRIRE is capable and found winning form last time.

SELECTIONS: 11 EN FRANCAIS, 2 Another Rally, 3 El Cordobes

PLAY: Staying with EN FRANCAIS.

RACE 6 - 2:27PM Happy 40th Birthday Ben Arezina Handicap (1200 METRES)

SACRED PALACE is a nice horse who was placed behind In The Boat at Moonee Valley back in January and his latest was very good running 3rd behind Jigsaw at Caulfield. He draws a gate and looks the one to beat. OUTLAWS REVENGE was very good sitting just off the leader before proving too strong last time. He has a big weight but looks well placed. EXETER has won six of 29 and comes off a good run behind Triple Missile. That’s good form for a race like this. MIDNIGHT STORM could be a blow out here. His first-up run was OK behind Munster and hen has a good record this track and trip. AIGUILETTE comes off a good win at Murray Bridge last week.

SELECTIONS: 5 SACRED PALACE, 1 Outlaws Revenge, 3 Exeter, 2 Midnight Storm

PLAY: Keen on SACRED PALACE, something small on MIDNIGHT STORM at odds.

RACE 7 - 3:05PM Grand Syndicates - New Yearlings Available Now! Handicap (1600 METRES)

JAGUARY was very good coming from a long way back to win two starts back and then again solid behind Noname Lane last time. He maps well and looks to have solid claims. NONAME LANE controlled the race on speed last time to win well and he has been in the top two in seven of his eight runs here. SOMERSET MAUGHAM has been knocking on the door in Melbourne and is two from two here at Morphettville. KISSINGER can run well in a race like this. SKILLED BUNCH was a good winner two stars back and then ran OK in the Swan Hill Cup last time. LAKE’S FOLLY draws to get a good run.

SELECTIONS: 2 JAGUARY, 4 Noname Lane, 5 Somerset Maugham, 9 Kissinger

PLAY: Something each-way JAGUARY.

RACE 8 - 3:45PM Furphy Handicap (1050 METRES)

FIGHTING MCLAREN is a good horse with five wins from his 10 starts he was too good first-up from a spell beating Kayseri and should run a big race again. CHOSEN BLONDE draws a good barrier and has been racing well. She was caught off the track but stuck to her task well last time and looks well placed here. ASTON RAPOVA has been racing well winning twice here before thrown in the deep end at G3 level. He’s been freshened. JABALI RIDGE has been placed at his past three in Victoria and has been here and run 2nd before.

SELECTIONS: 1 FIGHTING MCLAREN, 12 Chosen Blonde, 5 Aston Rapova

PLAY: ASTON RAPOVA looks over the odds and worth a nibble.

RACE 9 - 4:22PM Charles Melton Wine Lunch - Saturday July 16th Handicap (1800 METRES)

MR PICKWICK was brave on speed holding off Eagles Crag at Swan Hill last time. He draws the car park but should take some beating. CASHIN’ CHEX is going super and did a good job to keep coming late last time. He draws a middle gate, looks well placed and getting to 1800m should suit. Former Kiwi PLATFORM ran well at Sandown at his second start for the Travis Doudle stable last time. PRINCE OF FENCES is another well up to a race like this. ALL HARD WOOD could be one at big odds worth including.

SELECTIONS: 2 MR PICKWICK, 6 Cashin’ Chex, 5 Platform,

PLAY: Backing CASHIN’ CHEX each-way.
