Equine focus continues for PETstock

PETstock are hoping their partnership with Thorough Care SA and support of retired thoroughbreds will continue to grow their hoofprint in the equine industry.

The Australian-owned family business, who celebrate 20 years in the industry in 2022, have 210 stores across Australia and New Zealand.

80 of those stores carry their equine range including four in South Australia at Mount Barker, Parafield, Port Lincoln and recently opened PETstock Country store in Wallaroo which shapes as the first of an exciting future for horse lovers.

“We don’t carry equine ranging in every store for obvious reasons,’’ PETstock’s Equine Project Mananger Paul Dixon said.

“The launch of our new ‘PETstock Country’ model will see a number of new stores coming to South Australia over the next 12 months and this will increase our equine footprint,’’ he said.

Dixon said it was a national approach to focus on the equine.

“We have a dedicated focus to continue to grow our horse offering nationally,’’ Dixon said.

“We will continue to offer a comprehensive range of equine food, health, rugs, as well as saddlery and accessories,’’ he said.

One of their feature brands Caribu (horse rugs & accessories) has been a large part of their partnership with Thorough Care SA.

“Since partnering PETstock, Thorough Care SA have supplied more than 240 Caribu rugs for retired thoroughbreds across South Australia,’’ Racing SA’s Equine Welfare Officer John Cornell said.

“We’ll continue to work closely with PETstock who have been brilliant in helping Thorough Care SA with what we’re trying to do and that’s celebrate the retired thoroughbred,’’ Cornell said.
