2022/23 SA Racing Season Dates

The Adelaide Racing Carnival will again feature four Group 1 race days at Morphettville in April and May in season 2022/23.

The first of the Group 1’s will again be the Australasian Oaks on April 29 before the running of the Sangster Stakes on May 6, SA Derby on May 13, and the Goodwood on May 20.

"Separating the Australasian Oaks and the Robert Sangster Stakes was a positive change to this year’s Carnival and contributed to its success," Racing SA chief operating officer Vaughn Lynch said.

“We’re hoping that we can build on this again in 2023, with trainers and owners having more time to plan for the revamped Carnival.”

South Australia will host 184 meetings next season with Morphettville scheduled for 40 Saturdays. Metropolitan racing will be held at Murray Bridge seven times, while Gawler will race on Saturday four times.

“Metropolitan race meetings at Murray Bridge and Gawler have continued to be valuable for the industry and have given our main track a chance to have a break allowing it to perform better throughout the year," Lynch Said.

Morphettville are also poised for a busy festive season with racing on Boxing Day and a twilight meeting on New Year’s Eve while the time-honoured Adelaide Cup is scheduled for Monday, March 13.

The Oakbank Racing Club will race on six occasions in 2022/23 which will include the new look Easter Saturday and Easter Monday meetings.

Port Lincoln will kick off their season with the first of 15 meetings on October 2.

The South-East will hold 29 meetings across the season featuring 12 at Mount Gambier. The Kangaroo Island Cup Carnival will be on February 16 and 18 while Mindarie-Halidon will host their annual Cup meeting September 18.
