Extremely well backed: Clarken galloper set to fire in Tobin Bronze

Exciting three-year-old Extremely Lucky has been heavily backed to win the Group 2 Tobin Bronze Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville.

The Will Clarken-trained colt was a $13 chance when markets opened on Wednesday and now finds himself at $6 with tab.com.au.

Extremely Lucky created a big impression on debut winning at Murray Bridge for Sam Burford which saw him purchased by clients of Clarken and leading bloodstock agent Suman Hedge.

He was luckless first-up behind Silver On Red and Mark Zahra takes the ride in the $202,250 feature with Jamie Kah opting to ride the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Marine One.

The Tobin Bronze, former Euclase, has produced some future stars in recent years.

In 2019 Perth sprinter Valour Road defeated Tofane and Gytrash, while Beau Rossa proved too good in last year’s edition.

John Allen replaces Jess Eaton on Manhatten Times for Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas while Oaks winning rider Daniel Moor will partner second favourite General Beau from the inside barrier.
