BEST BETS

HAVOC (Race 1, No. 2)

$420,000 yearling purchase who had four trials in Sydney for the Peter and Paul Snowden before finding his way to Sue and Jason Jaensch after being purchased for just $30,000 via the Inglis Online Sale last June. Impressive in a jump-out here on March 7 when he railed like a greyhound, trialled OK since when he they tried to get him to sit off the speed. If he jumps and rolls over the 900m he’ll take some running down.

DEFINING (Race 3, No. 11)

Tony and Calvin McEvoy trained filly who cost $225,000 at the Karaka Sale ion New Zealand. Has been well backed in both Victorian runs. Draws a nice barrier up slightly in trip and the stable goes for the blinkers here. Ticks a lot of boxes.
