Murray Bridge inner track on schedule

The inner-turf training track at Murray Bridge is on schedule for horse traffic in late April or early May in 2022.

The new 15 metre wide, 1654 metre track is a vital addition to the Gifford Hill facility which is poised to become South Australian racing’s biggest training facility.

The new inner track will help shoulder the load between the inner fibre sand track and course proper.

Racing SA CEO Nick Redin said the latest project will complement the other first-class facilities which are attracting local and international industry participants to Murray Bridge.

“We are looking forward to the inner track coming on line towards the middle of 2022. It is an important piece of infrastructure to help us accommodate the training for an increasing horse population in SA,’’ Redin said.

“The inner track is the latest infrastructure project which reinforces Racing SA’s commitment to providing ongoing infrastructure development to enhance the industry and stimulate growth in the horse population in South Australia.

“The inner turf track will not only help protect the racing surface at Murray Bridge but will also allow the training centre to accommodate the projected growth resulting from the on-course stabling project,” he said.
