VALENTIGRA (Race 2)

RACE 1 - 12:22PM GJ Civil Handicap (1100 METRES)

Tricky start to the day. EYES NEVER LIE has won two of three starts since resuming and was too good for Valentigra last time on the Parks. She draws out but there should be good speed here which will suit. RODEO was a good winner on the Parks track before a solid effort in Melbourne behind Unflinching at Moonee Valley. He gets in well with the claim. DESIRED comes to SA on the back of two solid Victorian efforts and must be respected. BELLE OF YORKES was a good winner at Murray Bridge two starts back before running down the track at Listed level. She draws the inside but was also an acceptor at Morphettville on Friday. BRAZEN BOY will be the speed in the race, his two jump outs have been impressive as usual, the 1100m may be a stretch but he will give them something to chase.

SELECTIONS: 2 EYES NEVER LIE, 6 Rodeo, 7 Desired, 3 Belle Of Yorkes

PLAY: EYES NEVER LIE in a tricky little race.

RACE 2 - 1:02PM Matrix Solar Solutions Handicap (1500 METRES)

SADLER’S SONG was good winning at the Parks last time at odds. She looks a horse with upside and drawing out won’t be a problem here. VALENTIGRA showed solid improvement behind Eyes Never Lie last time. She gets in here well after the Ben Price claim and should run well and is over the odds. Stablemate SWAP VIXEN was good in the same race won by Eyes Never Lie and gets some weight relief with the Madison Lloyd claim. PENWORTHAM dropped in grade to win his maiden last time. COYOTE is a Kiwi who was sent our favourite at his local debut in July but has trialled nicely since.

SELECTIONS: 4 SADLER’S SONG, 7 Valentigra, 1 Swamp Vixen, 3 Penwortham

PLAY: Happy to back VALENTIGRA each-way at odds.

RACE 3 - 1:37PM Bronwen Darrall Memorial Handicap (1200 METRES)

GOT THE STYLE was a Ballarat winner three starts back and then ran well at Sandown finishing 4th. She tried hard behind Point Blaze last time and looks perfectly placed here from the good gate with the claim. JOURNEY TO PETRA landed some good backing to score at Morphettville on debut and draws the inside gate here. INVINCIBLE BAY is lightly raced and was a Kilmore maiden winner back in February. He made good ground last time and the 1200m should suit. VIRTUE is the pick of the rest.

SELECTIONS: 3 GOT THE STYLE, 2 Journey To Petra, 1 Invincible Bay, 6 Virtue

PLAY: GOT THE STYLE looks one for multis.

RACE 4 - 2:12PM LJ Hooker Property Specialists Handicap (Heat 12 TAB Southern Speed Series) (2100 METRES)

FIGHTER looks to have found a very winnable race. He was easy but too good for Montepulciano at Murray Bridge last time, the step up in trip is right in his wheelhouse and he should be too good for these. BRONSKI is racing well winning two of his past three in similar grade. ALL HARD WOOD gets in very well here after the claim. AZZUREOUS draws a barrier and could improve.

SELECTIONS: 2 FIGHTER, 4 Bronski, 3, All Hard Wood, 5 Azzureous

PLAY: He’s short but FIGHTER should be winning and can multi up with GOT THE STYLE in R3.

RACE 5 - 2:47PM Holdfast Insurance Brokers Handicap (1200 METRES)

LI’L HANK has been in great form and gets some relief here with the Jacob Opperman claim. He draws perfect and I’m keen to back him each-way. Likewise OUR DEEP AGENDA is flying and chasing four wins on the bounce. He worked to the lead and pulled out plenty last time. ALL IMPORTANT made good ground behind Our Deep Agenda last time and is knocking on the door in similar class. DIPLOMATIC MEASURE had specking at a price first-up and ran OK from an inside gate on the Parks. He draws the inside again and drops back slightly to 1200m. OUTPOST has been racing very well and draws a nice barrier, ALSVIOR is racing OK but draws wide.

SELECTIONS: 4 LI’L HANK, 5 Our Deep Agenda, 7 All Important, 1 Diplomatic Measure

PLAY: Will have something on ALL IMPORTANT each-way.

RACE 6 - 3:22PM Coopers Brewery Handicap (1100 METRES)

TERBIUM resumed this meeting last year and smashed his rivals by almost five lengths under similar conditions. He draws perfectly and has an in-form Kayla Crowther aboard. MIDNIGHT STORM looks nicely placed again here. He got the money at good odds at Morphettville last time and is a strong each-way bet again. STREET LIFE ran some very good races in stronger company last time in work and has won three of eight here and has missed a place just once in six first-up runs. HEKA EXPRESS is going super and followed a solid first-up run behind Appalachian by beating Thompson’s Reward on the Parks track last time. SPANISH HEIRLOOM has a good record but will need some luck from a sticky barrier. PEARL BANDIT is a handy horse who will need further, PARIANO draws out but could be a blow out.

SELECTIONS: 2 TERBIUM, 3 Midnight Storm, 4 Street Life, 6 Heka Express

PLAY: TERBIUM the win, STREET LIFE the knockout each-way.

RACE 7 - 4:02PM TAB Handicap (1100 METRES)

Wide open race. SPELMAN won a Balaklava maiden two starts back and was sent out favourite before a spell running 4th behind Enchantingly at Morphettville. Thought his recent jump-out was good enough to be give this a shake from a nice barrier. STRATEGY was a winner on the Parks track three starts back and comes off a Mornington placing. He gets in OK after the claim and draws the inside gate. UNICORNY has run well at odds in her two starts for Shayne Cahill and draws a nice middle gate. TANJA’S DREAM has a good record and resumes here but has a wide gate to overcome. PARISENNE MONDE has ability and wasn’t beaten far behind Lope De Wolf at Morphettville last time.

SELECTIONS: 6 SPELMAN, 1 Strategy, 12 Unicorny, 2 Tanja’s Dream

PLAY: SPELMAN each-way in an open race.

RACE 8 - 4:42PM Cornerstone Stud Sir Prancealot Series Final (Qualified Horses) (1200 METRES)

INDIAN GAZELLE is a nice mare who is drawn wide but likes to get back and come with one run. She got the job done at Murray Bridge last time loves it here on her home track. LADY SIMONE was a beaten favourite here last time but her previous behind Winning Weather is a solid form reference for a race like this. PHYLA VELL has talent and led when 3rd behind Lucy Diamonds here last time. She draws a good gate and is going to be on speed. Stablemate GINNY ANN has been placed here past couple and maps well from the good barrier. LUCY DIAMONDS resumed with a good win here before stepping up in class behind Lady Dunmore last time. She has each-way appeal. SPINOLA BAY is a horse with talent and strips fitter here. GOGOLF GURU is unbeaten in two starts for the Quinton stable and must be respected despite the sharp step up in grade.

SELECTIONS: 2 INDIAN GAZELLE, 7 Lady Simone, 3 Phyla Vell, 8 Lucy Diamonds

PLAY: backing INDIAN GAZELLE to get over the top of these.

RACE 9 - 5:20PM Trimboli Services Handicap (1500 METRES)

Open race to finish the day. TOYZ ON FIRE was a Ballarat winner in August and came to SA and was well backed when 3rd behind Tahnee Tradition at Morphettville. She draws out but gets in well after the claim and looks very well placed.  TRADEWIND is suited in a race like this but also an acceptor in a very winnable race at Morphettville on Friday night. MORTY draws out but he’s a horse with talent and more than capable in a race like this. CRYPTO CURRENCY maps to get a nice run with a Ben Price claim Stablemate FRANKEL STAR has been good his past couple. EFFORT was a Geelong winner two starts back and his Victorian form is OK for a race like this.

SELECTIONS: 6 TOYZ ON FIRE, 1 Tradewind, 7 Morty, 4 Effort

PLAY: MORTY each-way
