EACH-WAY: MORIALTA (Race 9)

VALUE: TAKEN OFF (Race 8)

RACE 1 - 12:28PM Spring Racing Carnival at Morphettville - Oct. 9 - Nov 6 Handicap (1550 METRES)

Tricky little race. Danny O’Brien sends two runners over the border. MAN OF HEART was sent out favourite at Geelong two starts back and draws to get a perfect run with the blinkers on for the first time while SHABALALA was easy in betting when well beaten on debut. Gordon Richards and Damien Moyle have KNIGHTSTOWN, who was perfectly ridden two starts back before a solid effort behind Manhatten Times and WHEELS OF COURAGE who was good beating Tavikat last time. MAX FIRE jumps up in class on the back of an Oakbank maiden win.

SELECTIONS: 5. MAN OF HEART, 1. Knightstown, 2. Wheels Of Courage

RACE 2 - 1:03PM Furphy Handicap (1550 METRES)

PERFECT ROUTE was impressive coming off the speed to beat Wings Of Pastrami last time and has won four of five starts here. MAGNETIC EDGE draws the inside gate and loves it here with two wins and a second in four starts. He just missed behind Ecumenical last time, and she has gone on to run super in Melbourne. He’ll take some beating. CLASSY JOE ran well at a price when 3rd behind Winning Partner in the Balaklava Cup. He draws well and should be in the mix. MAGNA BELLA is racing well and comes off a good run when beaten 2 lengths behind Ecumenical which is a strong form line for this. GLOBAL GIFT was sent out favourite at Cranbourne last time and was runner-up at Sandown before that. He draws perfectly and has found a winnable race. SIGN OF USSURI maps well from the gate and has been racing well.

SELECTIONS: 5. PERFECT ROUTE, 8. Magnetic Edge, 2. Classy Joe

RACE 3 - 1:38PM G.H. Mumm Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate (Heat 6 Rebel Raider Series) (1000 METRES)

PHILONIZE will get every possible chance here from the good barrier with no weight after the Ben Price claim. She was only reeled in late behind Hanabi last time but will give them plenty to chase. LEGLESS LADY was thrown in the deep end behind See You In Spring at Listed level on debut before she was beaten 6.1 lengths behind Heresy. She got through the line smartly in a Morphettville jump out and will be worth following going forward. She may be good enough to win first-up. STREET SWAGGER has trialled OK behind Speak No Eagle and draws a good barrier for his debut. JAAZEB draws a middle gate but was good behind Belle Of Yorkes at Murray Bridge back in July and should run well.

SELECTIONS: 11. PHILONIZE, 9. Legless Lady, 7. Street Swagger

RACE 4 - 2:13PM The Junction Handicap (2250 METRES)

Even race. SLIPINTOTHIS led throughout to win at Wangaratta last time and has a good record with four wins and five placings from 13 starts. Patrick Payne has a great record here in SA and he looks hard to beat. The best version of HASTA LA WAR would take a power of beating here. He gets out to a suitable distance, is a winner this track and trip and it would be great to see him back in the winners stall. NORDIC SYMPHONY comes off some solid Melbourne efforts placed twice at Sandown before running 4th behind Diaquin last time. EXALTED AMBITION has been racing well and won two on end before he boxed on OK behind All Hard Wood last week.

SELECTIONS: 3. SLIPINTOTHIS, 2. Hasta La War, 5. Nordic Symphony

RACE 5 - 2:48PM Dominant Handicap (1000 METRES)

GAZE GRISE has talent and maps well from the good barrier. She defeated All In War at Murray Bridge back in April and is going to take some beating here first-up from a spell. Stablemate HARD RANSOM was a good winner back in class at Port Augusta before running 2nd at Balaklava behind El Magnificence. GARRIRE was a winner this track and trip back in May and strips fitter for one run back and draws the inside alley. AKKACAN races well here and was good last time behind Aston Rapova. SILVER MELODY can improve with the help of the claim.

SELECTIONS: 3. GAZE GRISE, 6. Garrire, 4. Akkacan

RACE 6 - 3:28PM Pike & Joyce Handicap (1250 METRES)

Expecting LORD VLADIVOSTOK to head to Melbourne which will see EXTRA TIME run a short-priced favourite. He has been very good since resuming winning first-up and then making good ground from a long way back behind the talented Lombardo. He maps well from the middle gate and looks hard to beat. SAVS FINALE is the watch a former Tasmanian who has won his past three and was scratched from last week’s Wylie in preference to this. DON’TDREAMIT’SOVER has been good since coming to SA and won two of his last four starts before a break. He draws out but has trialled well for his return. Stablemate TRITON RISING was beaten at his local debut behind Designer Chef but his overall record is solid for a race like this. GIGGLON was back to form last time and maps well from barrier two.

SELECTIONS: 5. EXTRA TIME, 3. Savs Finale, 4. Don’tdreamit’sover

RACE 7 - 4:08PM Barossa Fine Foods Handicap (Heat 4 Viddora Series) (1300 METRES)

STAR OF UMA has been in the money at all three starts here and led when run down by Lake’s Folly back in July. Her first-up record is solid, and she’ll take some running down. She has been very solid in the early betting. In contrast STAY GOLD is the opposite drifting despite a good barrier. She won at Ballarat and Pakenham this time last year and hasn’t raced since she was placed at Flemington in January. That’s solid form for this. MONA DREAM made good ground behind Seiners Express at Flemington last time and should be in the mix in a race like this. BIARCHI has plenty of ability and was tried against some good horses through the carnival. She’s trialled up OK for her return. POINT BLAZE was a good winner last time and must be given plenty of thought from a good barrier. ARAY OF SUNSHINE is capable at odds.

SELECTIONS: 1. STAR OF UMA, 2. Stay Gold, 3. Mona Dream

RACE 8 - 4:48PM Grand Syndicates - Supporting SA Racing Handicap (1000 METRES)

ALLEBOOM has never missed a place here in five starts and was good leading throughout beating Thompson’s Reward last start. He gets in OK after the claim and should take some beating. UNIVERSAL LADY has won her past two at Ballarat on the synthetic and should get a nice run from a middle gate. IDEAS MAN hasn’t raced for 10 months but did run in the 2020 Blue Diamond and maps well from the barrier. TAKEN OFF has been freshened after one run back behind He’s A Balter in July. He has trialled well and has a good record here. LARKHAM has been placed at both runs back from a break and does race well here. He should get a good run from the middle gate.

SELECTIONS: 2. ALLEBOOM, 11. Universal Lady, 1. Taken Off

RACE 9 - 5:25PM Weslo Security Handicap (1400 METRES)

MORIALTA is a smart horse who was a drifter and unsuited on the improving track at Balaklava last time. His previous was an impressive Murray Bridge win in Saturday grade when he rounded them up quickly. He’ll take some beating again. TURN TABLE was a good run on debut for his new stable when 5th behind So Say Angel at Balaklava. ANGASTON maps well from the gate and has a great record this track and trip. CROWN MINT was a good winner here two starts back beating Wild Imagination and must be respected. IMPOSSIBLE ACTION is another who is racing well and made good ground beaten a length behind Point Blaze last time out. COPPER FOX can run a cheeky race from a good barrier. REALEZA draws wide but was a Geelong winner last start and must be respected.  ROCK HARBOUR is hard to catch but maps well from the barrier and wasn’t far away behind Thrill Kill last time.

SELECTIONS: 6. MORIALTA, 11. Turn Table, 4. Angaston
