Lincoln Moore's Saturday Preview

BEST BET: 8 YULONG PHELPS (Race 4)

EACH-WAY: 11 HE’S A BALTER (Race 7)

VALUE: 9 PEGGY SELENE (Race 8)

RACE 1 - 11:52AM Terry Howe Printing Maiden Plate (1050 METRES)

ITALIAN VIKING is in the McEvoy yard and has been given plenty of time. The money is there to suggest he’s forward enough to winning here on debut for some high profile owners after some impressive jump outs. SELF SUFFICIENT has some talent, has been placed at three of seven starts and has raced in some handy Saturday grade. His debut was excellent when wide and narrowly beaten and a repeat would go close to winning this. He’s a nice each-way price. SAMURAI SUN finished off strongly behind Noname Lane at Murray Bridge two starts back and then again hit the line well behind Rusty Halo last time.

SELECTIONS: 5 ITALIAN VIKING, 6 Self Sufficient, 11 Samuari Sun

RACE 2 - 12:27PM Adelaide Galvanising Handicap (1600 METRES)

REYNOLDS has been super winning three of five in SA and was good behind Going Gaga first-up over the 1400m. He gets out to the mile, draws perfectly and looks the one to beat. FRANKIE PINOT was a slashing winner two starts back before another good run behind Going Gaga last time. He draws a sticky gate but is two from two here and should give this a shake. MELODY MAN has a good record and has been runner-up his past couple of Murray Bridge and has each-way appeal. DOMINUS was a dominant winner last time out at his SA debut and should be thereabouts. DR DEE DEE doesn’t run many bad races, draws well and gets some relief with the claim.

SELECTIONS: 4 REYNOLDS, 2, Frankie Pinot, 10 Melody Man

RACE 3 - 1:02PM The Junction Handicap (1500 METRES)

CLAP led throughout on heavy conditions to win at his SA debut. He draws wide but should take some beating again for the in-form Richard and Chantelle Jolly stable. TALAMO showed ability here last year before going back to NZ and is fitter for two runs back. He draws out but has ability and should be thereabouts. SPINOLA BAY was good winning at Murray Bridge three starts back and is better than last time behind Great Diviner. MUFFLA was very good making good ground behind Great Diviner last time out and getting to the 1500m looks ideal.

SELECTIONS: 1 CLAP, 11 Talamo, 6 Spinola Bay

RACE 4 - 1:37PM Furphy Handicap (1100 METRES)

YULONG PHELPS was impressive on debut stalking the speed before winning easily by 3.25 lengths. He draws to keep out of trouble has Todd Pannell and looks the one they have to beat. SPECIALISM ran well at her local debut for Will Clarken and should taken benefit from that outing. JYOTI has been racing well and is a winner here and stuck on well behind It’s Kind Of Magic in a leader dominated race last time. CHOSEN BLONDE will ride the speed from a good gate and is capable of giving this a big shake. WOTUWANT is going well and is worth some thought on his latest.

SELECTIONS: 8 YULONG PHELPS, 12 Specialism, 5 Jyoti

RACE 5 - 2:12PM Happy 40th Jason Gentle Handicap (2500 METRES)

CARRIE has solid Victorian form for a race like this. She was a good Cranbourne winner three starts back and has finished just behind the placegetters at her past two in Melbourne. She draws out but looks well placed here. LORD BOUZERON has been racing well and was a winner on the Parks track four starts back and his three runs since have been solid, the latest behind Mahis Angel. BEAR ARMS was a good winner back in class two starts back and loves a bottomless track. She must be respected. CLEVER MAN has done a great job since coming to SA and was a dominant Murray Bridge winner last time and can step up in class here. RUDIMENTAL could be an improver in this sort of class out in trip.

SELECTIONS: 2 CARRIE, 1 Lord Bouzeron, 9 Bear Arms

RACE 6 - 2:52PM Accolade Wines Handicap (1800 METRES)

FLYING PIERRO was a good winner over Icecrusher two starts back before being narrowly being beaten by Jaguary last time, he gets through the heavy and should be right in the mix here. DENERO brings some solid Victorian form placed behind Chief Altony at Sandown before a handy run behind Bartholomeu Dias. MASTER CHUM is a smart horse on his day back in distance after chasing home the in-form Grand Promenade at Flemington last time. His RA Lee Stakes run over a mile three starts back was good. FRANCE’S BOY is going well and was placed behind Flying Pierro before a good effort behind Jaguary. He’s another who hasn’t won beyond a mile but sure to run well. MUNTHAM MISSILE was a Penola winner over 2100m three starts back. He ran OK behind Nudge Bar last time and must be given some thought despite the class rise from a good barrier. STAN THE CADDY looked to have his chance last time behind Nudge Bar but is back in trip and must be respected.

SELECTIONS: 8 FLYING PIERRO, 3 Denero, 1 Master Chum

RACE 7 - 3:32PM Leader Computers, Locally Built, Proudly Australian Handicap (1050 METRES)

Sure to be really good speed here. HE’S A BALTER could be the one to benefit down in the weights is going super and should appreciate a strong tempo, he draws a good gate and must be respected. METEORITE has won four of 13 and loves to roll along, he draws out but is sure to give them something to chase. ONE MORE JACK will make his own luck from the wide gate. His best form is very good he won the City Of Marion Stakes last November before running 4th in the Xmas Handicap behind Savatoxl and has won eight of 14 starts. TAKEN OFF has won three of six this track and also races well fresh. CAN’T BE DONE defeated local Arkham Knight at Sandown two starts back and led behind Yulong Storm last time. BRIMARVI VEHERO maps well from the good gate and his form this campaign has been solid, STAR HILLS was back to his best form last time and has won two of three starts on a heavy track. THOMPSON’S REWARD will thrive on the good speed and can swoop late with OCTANE who would be hard to beat on his best.

SELECTIONS: 11 HE’S A BALTER, 5 Taken Off, 8 Meteorite

RACE 8 - 4:12PM TAB Lightning Stakes (1050 METRES)

BEAU ROSSA is the class horse who was a Group 2 winner before running down the track in the Group 1 Goodwood. He’s two from three here and should get a nice smother from the barrier. He's the best horse in the race, it’s a case of if he’s wound up to winning. DIRTY THOUGHTS likes to be handy but draws awkwardly, she is unbeaten on a heavy track and was placed at G3 level in the Champagne. ESTA LA ROCA will roll forward from a good barrier and has a good record. MAHA draws a sticky gate but was dominant at Gawler back in class, while stablemate ZOUSHINE was good winning last time at Murray Bridge but this is a harder assignment. PEGGY SELENE was only average last time out but does have a very good record on heavy tracks, NALEIGH is going well but this is a big step up in class, LARMIER STREET was very good coming off the speed two starts back and a touch plain last time, drawing out suits his pattern. PARALOPHONE won this race last year but hasn’t won since.

SELECTIONS: 1 BEAU ROSSA, 8 Dirty Thoughts, 9 Peggy Selene

RACE 9 - 4:50PM Blight’s Electrical Handicap (1200 METRES)

ECHOES IN ETERNITY has been freshened and she has won two of four starts here. She was runner-up behind La Richesse two back before battling behind Midnight Storm. She draws well and looks well placed. NONAME LANE is going well and won at Murray Bridge first-up from a break. He also draws a nice gate and should be fighting out the finish. VIOLINIST has a handy record and can run well despite a wide gate, while GIGGLON has a good record and does get through heavy ground. ANGASTON has a handy record and was a good winner over Sedante before a break. He’s probably going to need the run and be looking for him second-up. HALCYON DAME gets blinkers for the first time.

SELECTIONS: 9 ECHOES IN ETERNITY, 10 Noname Lane, 12 Violinist
