Time to get back on track

WANT to finally get back on track?

South Australian racetracks are welcoming patrons ‘back on track’ this spring, via pre-booked tickets to a list of venues across the state.

While racing continued through the COVID-19 crisis, crowds were prevented from attending meetings.

However, spring is the perfect time to reconnect with live racing and experience the excitement of being trackside.

Fortunately, this is now possible, thanks to the COVID-19-safe plans implemented by each SA club welcoming back patrons. The majority of provincial clubs are on this list, along with Morphettville.

Clubs are focused on keeping all patrons safe by offering a limited number of pre-booked tickets and packages, and by people adhering to all restrictions put in place.

“We know people have missed going to the races, so it’s great that patrons can return to the races, albeit under slightly different circumstances,” said Thoroughbred Racing South Australia CEO Nick Redin.

“Clubs have carefully implemented designated zones for all ticket holders, and are taking every precaution to ensure the safety of patrons, staff and the community.”

Importantly, those wishing to attend meetings need to contact individual clubs for bookings and to check availability.

“Ring the venue you want to attend and make your bookings,” Mr Redin said.

“Then, get back on track.”

South Australian Jockey Club (SAJC) CEO Grant Mayer also welcomed spectators returning to the races in SA.

“Quite rightly the SA government are being cautious when it comes to major events,” Mr Mayer said.

“The SAJC is pleased to open Morphettville to members and guests and will continue to offer high-class events throughout spring and summer.

“Our big event days such as Melbourne Cup day and twilight races may look a little different, but will still be great, and fun-packed with entertainment.”

Note: It is recommended that patrons check with clubs close to the events they plan to attend, due to the changing landscape of COVID-19 conditions. Other venues may be added or removed as restrictions change.
