A town that has produced some of the biggest stars in racing will welcome the most sought after trophy in the sport, when the 2019 Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour heads to Streaky Bay in August.
The $200,000 Melbourne Cup will roll into town on Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 of August with a special guest appearance from 3 times Melbourne Cup winning jockey and Streaky Bay local, Kerrin McEvoy, who will attend a charity function on the Monday night at the Streaky Bay Hotel.
Members of the public will be able to get a photo with the iconic trophy at a raft of different events taking place over the two days.
The 2019 Lexus Melbourne Cup Streaky Bay Tour Includes the following activities –
1- Come join in the festivities of the 2019 Lexus Melbourne Cup tour at the Streaky Bay Hotel from 4pm Photo opportunities with the $200,000 Melbourne Cup trophy in the Pelican Lounge. The Streaky Bay Hotel will kindly be putting HAPPY HOUR on during this time.

2 - Kerrin McEvoy Sculpture Committee is hosting a major fundraiser dinner for the sculpture project at the Streaky Bay Hotel. The dinner will be hosted by – Terry McAulife, with guest Speakers – Kerrin & Cathy McEvoy , Jo O’Shaughnessy from Victorian Racing Club and Ken Martin who will preview the Marquette of the proposed statue.
There will also be an array of fantastic auction items up for grabs, with all proceeds going to assist in the production of the Kerrin McEvoy statue
