Viddora Returns to the Track at the Trials

Superstar mare Viddora returned to the track on Thursday morning winning her trial comfortably as she looks ahead to the $1 million Group 1 UBET Classic on 5 May.

Viddora kicked off Thursday's trials with a comfortable two length victory over Mystified and Desert Lashes. The SA Sprint queen was slow out of the gates and settled last before sneaking up on the rails for the rest of her run and then put the field away from the 200m mark. Her return to the track looks to be in the Group 3 RN Irwin Stakes on 21 April, the race she won last year before heading to the Group 1 UBET Classic.

One of Viddora's likely rivals in the RN Irwin will be It's Been a Battle from the Shane Oxlade stable. The mare looked as if she hasn't missed a beat after her Listed Matrice Stakes win on Adelaide Cup Day with a five length win in the second trial of the day. She kicked to the front in the trial and didn't look back beating two quality gallopers in Brown Ben and Via Balciano.

There were some positive signs for Phillip Stokes with four of his runners taking out their respective trials with the Adelaide Magic Millions third placegetter Dancer's Kin looking like he's not too far away from his first career win claiming his trial by two lengths. The talented Music Bay claimed her trial while there were also good signs for his two three-year-old fillies Broadband and Counterplay, running first and second in the sixth trial.

In the final trial of the day, the Balaklava and Seymour Cup winner Balf's Choice stepped out for another trial running third behind Tycoon Sofie and Murray Bridge Cup winner Excites Zelady over 1250m.
