Our Grey Flash Looking for Bletchingly Upset

Leon Macdonald & Andrew Gluyas may have wrapped up the 2016-17 South Australian Metropolitan Premiership but on Saturday they will be hoping to add a Victorian metropolitan victory to their tally for this season when Daytona Grey tackles a quality field in the Group 3 Bletchingly Stakes at Caulfield.

Daytona Grey was narrowly defeated by race favourite Supido to run second in his last start in the Group 3 Monash Stakes and will have to take on Supido again tomorrow in the Bletchingly. The Mick Kent trained Supido will start the $3.50 favourite with UBET.

Tomorrow is also the return of the one-time world's best sprinter Lankan Rupee who has an outstanding first up record, only missing a placing once in eight first-up runs. Lankan Rupee is well weighted and is second elect with UBET at $4.60.

Daytona Grey has been installed as a $19 chance with UBET and has recorded five of his twelve career wins over the 1200m which is positive for his chances tomorrow. He was the winner of the 2015 Group 3 Irwin Stakes, so is proven in this grade.

Jockey Clare Lindop is positive about the grey's chances in the Group 3 tomorrow.

"I'm excited to be heading across to Melbourne for a big race. He's drawn an inside gate and I just hope there is bit more pace on than last time."

"He was awesome last start and it's just exciting to be on board him in a good race Melbourne."

Daytona Grey a $65k purchase from the 2011 Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sale has gone on to accumulate just over $560k in prizemoney over his career.
