Kate Freebairn
Adelaide born and bred, 26 year old Kate Freebairn began her career in television working as a freelance reporter with 7 News after completing a Journalism degree at UniSA in 2005.
She then went on to spend a year in the country, working as a reporter and presenter with Southern Cross News in Broken Hill.
After spending six months overseas, Kate took on her role with Ten News in 2007 where she is currently a news reporter and part time weather presenter.
Kate was given her first taste of racing as a young girl, when her family packed a picnic and made the yearly pilgrimage to the Easter Racing Carnival at Oakbank.
From there, she became a regular in the young members’ marquees at race days in both the city and country and still loves nothing more than dressing up for a day at the races.
Kate has a keen eye for fashion and has been both a host and a judge at numerous fashion events across the state.
In her role as Fashion at The Races Ambassador, Kate will be dressed by Liza Emanuele for her race day commitments while Studio Hats will provide her with gorgeous headwear throughout the year.
