Schweppes Oaks Ladies Day - Saturday 21 April

Fillies and mares of both the human and equine kind made their way to Allan Scott Park Morphettville on Schweppes Oaks Ladies Day, Saturday, 21 April.

Featuring four Group races including the $300,000 Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes for fillies and mares (weight-for-age) and the $250,000 Group 1 Schweppes Oaks (3YO fillies – set weights). On the track, the Schweppes Oaks was taken out by Michael Rodd on Anamato giving David Hayes (quite remarkably) his first Group 1 win in Adelaide. After this, Corey Brown powered home Universal Queen to victory in the Robert Sangster Stakes.

Off the track, the Ladies Luncheon had spectacular trackside views from the top floor of the Tapestry Pavillion – not just of the finishing post but at the superb fashions on the catwalk by Liza Emanuele with headwear by Lorraine Gill Creations. Also providing a visual feast were guests ‘queen’ of gossip Hans from Nova 91.9 and Troy Gray- host of Channel 9’s “Feeling Good” and “Building Ideas” and also the founder of “Destination for Men”.

The next feature raceday at Allan Scott Park Morphettville is Super Sunday raceday – South Australia’s Richest Raceday – Sunday, 6 May. See the Events page for details.
