Over 5,100 racegoers turned out on a beautiful summer’s day for the recent SKYCITY Magic Millions Raceday.

This raceday sits between the days of the annual yearling sales next door at the Magic Millions complex with a number of racegoers and buyers venturing in from interstate for the occasion.

The Nova 919 breakfast crew of Fitzy, Jules and Lisa joined other fashionistas in the Playtime Marquee viewing Fashions by Westfield. Lisa also undertook reporting duties for the new racing TV show “Playtime Trackside” alongside fellow hosts Bek Devlin from Adelaide Confidential, Ali Carle from Mix 102.3 and TAB Radio’s Terry McAuliffe. This show can be seen on course at the SAJC before race one or on Channel Nine at 2pm each Saturday until SKYCITY Adelaide Cup Day.

On the track, Corey Brown took out the $200,000 RM Williams Magic Millions Adelaide 3YO trophy on El Pauji while Luke Nolen won the $400,000 SKYCITY Magic Millions Adelaide 2YO Classic on Truly Beautiful over 1200m.

Melinda Madigan from the Sydney Turf Club brought over the AAMI Golden Slipper trophy which will be contested at Rosehill on Saturday 31 March 2007. Punters were able to get up and personal with this prestigious trophy – see theraces.com.au for more information on this great day.

The general consensus from the crowd on SKYCITY Magic Millions Raceday was that it was a great lead up to the big one – SKYCITY Adelaide Cup Day. Packages are selling fast with a few still remaining – call the SAJC on 8295 0199 or see sajc.com.au for more information.
