Sunday’s T & R Murray Bridge Christmas Cup meeting was a truly festive day with plenty of Cheer and Good Will spread between patrons that enjoyed the day.
The big crowd was treated to some splendid summer weather and the magnificent summer fashions were abundant. The children on the day were entertained by balloon clowns, bouncing castle and rides and The Columbines which are an acrobatic theatrical group. But without doubt the arrival of Father Christmas proved a big hit as the stampede of excited young fans followed him upon his arrival.
Murray Bridge Racing Club Chairman, Reg Nolan was suitably pleased with the event saying “It is great to see so many people here enjoying the day and the crowd behaviour was one of good cheer. Christmas season is certainly upon us with many businesses taking advantage of our Christmas packages”.
The main race of the day, the T & R Christmas Cup was taken out by the Peter Blanch trained Desert Mission. Peter has had his share of problems with the 5yo gelding which notched up its 8 th career win from 25 starts.
Murray Bridge Racing Club Manager John Buhagiar said, “Given the opportunity of fine weather it is great to receive the support from the community on the day despite having to compete against other events in Adelaide. In an environment where we are constantly trying to improve ourselves it is great to have all plans run so smoothly which resulted in patrons enjoying themselves.”
