Lincoln Moore's Saturday Preview

BEST BET: ECHOES IN ETERNITY (Race 3)

EACH-WAY: CALYPSO REIGN (Race 8)

VALUE: SCARLET RIVER (Race 4)

RACE 1 - 12:15PM Love Your Local Butcher Handicap (1600 METRES)

Pretty keen to stick with DEXTER YOU DEVIL, who was very good behind Renegade here last week. He dropped out to last and stormed home. The jump from 1400m to the mile looks ideal and Shayne Cahill has been on board for six of his past seven wins. He opened $6 with tab.com.au but that didn’t last too long. DON’TDREAMIT’SOVER was good beating Pretty Glass two starts back and tried hard when he just couldn’t reel in Dazzling Damsel last time. He draws a nice gate and will be in this for a long way, well down in the weights. COSMIC AWARD hasn’t been beaten far her past couple and will get a good run from gate two. She couldn’t get clear running at a vital time before really finding the line last week in the race won by Renegade and looks right in this. SAFIN draws a good gate and was placed at Pakenham three starts back over a mile. EPERDUMENT hasn’t been far away.

SELECTIONS: DEXTER YOU DEVIL, Don’tdreamit’sover, Cosmic Award

RACE 2 - 12:52PM Riverlea Australia / Murray Valley Pork Handicap (2000 METRES)

FAROOQ looks ideally placed here out to 2000m with the claim for Jacob Opperman. He’s a winner over 2100m and has been stretched out further back in his 3YO season. Barrier four and the big spacious Murray Bridge track appeal, especially at the $6 price in early markets. SERIOUS SPENDER is going super and made it two on the bounce beating Resurge last time, when she settled back and stormed home off a strong tempo to win smartly. She’s a mare in form and sure to run well here. RESURGE was good running second in the same race. He’s finding it hard to win but must be respected. STAN THE CADDY has found form over distance and was dominant last time when he beat Monteferrante by five lengths at Gawler. He’ll make his own luck from the gate. QUAFFANY gets the blinkers again.

SELECTIONS: FAROOQ, Serious Spender, Resurge

RACE 3 - 1:27PM Butcher's Banquet Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate (1000 METRES)

ECHOES IN ETERNITY was a drifter on debut when runner-up behind Tradewind at Morphettville on the Parks track before going to Flemington where she ran really well behind fellow local Alleboom down the straight. She’s fresh for this and looks well placed from a perfect gate. DAILY SPIRIT has been runner-up her past three, the latest behind Indian Gazelle at Gawler. She draws a good gate and must be respected. POINT BLAZE jumped out well before a handy return when he closed late beaten just a length behind Impossible Action. He draws a sticky gate but has appeal. SPINOLA BAY is an improving type and found the line well behind Indian Gazelle last time out. KUNGKA MARU looked pretty forward in a recent Morphettville jump-out when she showed good speed. STRIKE THE NIGHT ran well behind Three Tears here last time out but this looks a touch harder.

SELECTIONS: ECHOES IN ETERNITY, Point Blaze, Daily Spirit

RACE 4 - 2:02PM Apprentice Butcher's Maiden Plate (1200 METRES)

INVESTITURE had three trials before having some support on debut when third behind stablemate Meehni back in July. He won a recent Oakbank trial and sure to give this a shake. AMMO AMOR ran second behind in that Oakbank trial. WE WILL REMEMBER finished runner-up behind Bribery in an Oakbank trial last week and draws perfectly for his debut. BOLT BY didn’t fire at Strathalbyn two starts back before a good effort behind La Rapide here last time out. He draws wide but must be respected. ANOTHER WHINE has had two trials but did look better in a recent Morphettville jump-out. SCARLET RIVER ran well on debut behind Pimm’s Party before an even effort at Gawler. She has the benefit of two Morphettville jump-outs (both were good) under her belt and looks some value. GOGOLF GURU will appreciate getting out in trip and has shown ability. EFFORTKAT is poorly drawn but improving, while SUPER LOOKA is another with some ability and has race fitness.

SELECTIONS: INVESTITURE, Scarlet River, We Will Remember

RACE 5 - 2:37PM Australian Meat Industry Council Handicap (1200 METRES)

Good race and top local horseman Michael Hickmott will play a big part in the outcome here with stablemates PINDARIC and PROMOTER. PINDARIC won both his first two starts at a price, the latest at Morphettville back in September beating Exalted Lauretta. He should get a gun run from the inside. PROMOTER was heavily fancied on debut but didn’t appreciate the tight-turning Parks circuit. He looked good winning his next outing here at a price before going to the paddock after running down the track. He’s a big horse who will appreciate a wide gate. PICARGO doesn’t run many bad races and finished off well behind Taken Off at Gawler last time. PUISSANCE DUSOLEIL has shown plenty of ability and ran well first-up last campaign behind Pearl Bandit. She has trialled well for this and maps well from a good barrier. OUR DEEP AGENDA is going super for Jon O’Connor. LADY PAVLI CHENKO was runner-up behind Lakhani Rose three starts back and was good first-up behind Four Of A Kind at Gawler. She draws to be a major player at a price. VINDEX has never missed a place in five runs here and could be the value, despite stepping up in class. ZUME FORWARD is another racing well but up in class.

SELECTIONS: PINDARIC, Puissance Dusoleil, Promoter

RACE 6 - 3:17PM MBL Handicap (1800 METRES)

TIBETAN is going to appreciate the jump from 1400m-1800m after he made good ground behind a dominant La Richesse here last week. He draws a lovely barrier and looks to have strong appeal. DIVANATION is another who will appreciate getting out in trip. She was only fair first-up from a break back in November but looked sharp winning an Oakbank trial recently and maps well from a good barrier. Stablemate ZOULAH was placed at her first two runs back at Morphettville behind Territory Titan and Motell. She was only fair at Flemington last time but looks better suited here back in trip. RAISE AN ARMY has been okay recently and made good ground behind Rubble here last time. IT’S MAGIC and RISING THUNDER are both last-start winners here but rising in class. MOUNT MADEIRA is another who ran OK last time but is poorly draw.

SELECTIONS: TIBETAN, Divanation, Zoulah

RACE 7 - 3:57PM Thomas Foods International Handicap (1400 METRES)

LORD VLADIVOSTOK is a talented former Kiwi who was sent out favourite when fourth behind Allusion at his Australian debut at Morphettville before proving too good for Pearl Bandit there back in September. He’s a horse with talent, draws perfectly in barrier four and is going to take some beating in a race like this. South-East galloper BLACK SYRAH defeated Pearl Bandit at Morphettville two starts back before he drifted in betting and was a touch plain at Bordertown behind Stealthy Lucas in the Cup back in December. He is unplaced at both runs here and drawn wide. EXALTED TRAVELLER is racing well and won at Morphettville and Strathalbyn before a solid effort when well backed behind Pearl Bandit at Gawler last time. He has been placed at all four runs here. ATEN was a Morphettville winner back in November before two even efforts in Melbourne and looks much better suited in a race like this. RUBBLE had specking at a price and came off the speed to win well here last time. He should get a nice run from barrier five. LI’L HANK has been racing in solid form this time in and was good getting over the top of Tomb Raider at Gawler last time. He races well here on his home track and has solid claims. ANGASTON jumped favourite here behind RUBBLE last time out. HANKSTAR would be right in a race like this on his best and TONY’S REWARD ran well when first-up in SA for the Macdonald/Gluyas stable, but was only fair at Gawler. He can improve from an inside gate.

SELECTIONS: LORD VLADIVOSTOK, Li’l Hank, Aten

RACE 8 - 4:40PM Bunzl (SA) Handicap (1000 METRES)

Should be some tempo here and for that reason happy to have something on CALYPSO REIGN, who has a win and two placings from his three starts here and has also been placed at both first-up outings. He’s jumped out very well for his first-up assignment. HEYINGTON STATION came off the speed to win at Moonee Valley two starts back before leading at Caulfield last time behind Evening Glory. That’s good form for this but again he’s drawn a touch wide. MRS HYDE is unbeaten in three runs here and is another who will be rolling forward from a sticky gate with no weight on her back. GRINZINGER EXPRESS has trialled well and goes well fresh, plus draws an inside gate. ATOMIC LOKADE looks the blow out.

SELECTIONS: CALYPSO REIGN, Heyington Station, Mrs Hyde

Race 9 - 5:25PM Foodmont Frenzy's Handicap (1200 METRES)

Another wide open race. HINT OF MINT is a nice mare who has drawn the inside gate. She was a Moonee Valley winner four starts back over 1000m and has appeal in a race like this. TEQUILA TIME has a handy record and was good behind Savatoxl three runs back. He got a long way back in the race won by Terbium at Gawler last time. He draws a gate and should be in the finish. GRINZINGER STAR has shown plenty of talent and was a Derby prospect in his 3YO season. He’s a Caulfield winner over a mile and at 2000m and looked pretty good in a recent Oakbank trial. He’s going to appreciate further but is a horse worth following and could run a race fresh. Stablemate STREET LIFE was well backed and got the job done nicely at Gawler last time. He’s drawn out but worth some thought. THAT’S JUSTIFIED is a former Alice Springs galloper with a good record and now with Michael Hickmott. He hasn’t raced since winning at Alice in early December. ENIGMAN went north and won the Palmerston Spring in August. His first run back at Ballarat was okay and he can improve sharply on his latest run from a handy barrier. BLUE TYCOON is another Victorian with a handy record and led them up at Mornington last time out.

SELECTIONS: HINT OF MINT, Tequila Time, Grinzinger Star
