Thoroughbred Racing SA. Ltd is the umbrella body for thoroughbred racing In South Australia. There are two metropolitan clubs in South Australia - the South Australian Jockey Club and the Oakbank Racing Club. The South Australian Racing Clubs Council represents the interests of both provincial and country clubs throughout South Australia. There are four provincial clubs and nineteen country clubs in South Australia. The strategic plan of Thoroughbred Racing SA focuses on increasing returns to owners so that future investors re-invigorate and help grow the industry participation base. The plan also encompasses through Prosperity 2010 a culture of customer commitment as the means of generating new income and asset growth. Thoroughbred Racing SA. Ltd has a special obligation on behalf of the industry to oversee that resources, revenues and assets are used to maximize the long-term returns delivered to the industry and its participants. Prosperity 2010 Prosperity 2010 is the industry-marketing plan, which was developed by the industry and twenty-five race clubs in South Australia. Prosperity 2010 is a plan about ensuring the long-term growth of our customers and the delivery a quality raceday experience for patrons and participants. The plan is also the driver of industry growth to ensure long term return to owners can be sustained. All racing clubs in South Australia developed the plan to build existing theme events as well as developing new themed events over the next five years. The strategy is to achieve moderate growth in event attendance by developing a greater marketing and promotional focus. Examples of these events include the twilight raceday at Victoria Park and the Food and Wine Expo at Port Lincoln. South Australia's unique assets are also marketing opportunities for thoroughbred racing. Taking in an outback race meeting on the way to the Flinders Ranges or tasting the regions wines at the "Valley of Vines Raceday" at the picturesque Clare Valley racecourse. South Australia has some of the nation's best food and wines festivals, which linked to thoroughbred racing, can make a great package. The vision and mission for Prosperity 2010 is: Our Vision Our Mission Club Business Plans The plans will enable clubs to establish priorities for the future and to capitalise on their greatest opportunities. Throughout the business planning process it has become more and more evident of the magnificent opportunities racing has in South Australia. These opportunities have been highlighted by clubs in Prosperity 2010, including food and wine days and special themed days. The industry's aim is to generate an annual net on course income of $6million by 2010 (excluding wagering). This revenue will enable clubs to increase returns to owners and invest in future revenue-generating projects to ensure the long-term viability of the industry. Thoroughbred Racing SA Limited.
